June 6-June 8 2013, AMY’S YOGA WITH A HEART PRESENTS:

ASHTANGA YOGA-THE MEANS AND THE GOAL
WITH CHRISTINE HOAR
Authorized Ashtanga Yoga Teacher and Ayurvedic Practitioner from Bristol, Vermont
www.bristolyoga.com

Christine’s workshops are inspiring, compassionate, insightful, and balanced. We will focus on “why” we practice Yoga as well as the “how” we practice yoga. This workshop will dive deeply into the Asana practice, but also includes discussion on pranayama, Yoga philosophy and the change that practice can bring to our lives. We will explore alignment, breath, precision in the Vinyasa method, and energetic movement or stagnation, using the postures in Primary and Second Series as springboards. Within this context, she aims to give students a working knowledge of the practice of Ashtanga Yoga, particularly as we evolve with it over many years of practice. Modifications to accommodate individual bodies and needs will be provided so all levels are welcome. The goal of this workshop is to refine our personal practices so that they feel joyful, pain-free, healing and transforming.

Exhale Spa, Simon's unique style of bodywork has been featured in Yoga Journal, New York Times, and W Magazine. The sequence that he teaches is easy to learn and very effective. It is great for bodyworkers, yoga teachers, and anyone who loves massage. Come alone or bring a friend to learn these amazingly relaxing
techniques!

'Vira' in sanskrit translates as the heroic quality in us all. Tap into this
inner strength through an inspiring, powerful flow class led by Simon. Full of creative vinyasa transitions between poses, dynamic martial arts stances and kicks, and an awesome musical soundtrack to sweat your prayers! Also, learn to float in arm balances as you feel your trepidations melt into joy as you play with gravity. Modifications for all levels.

Sunday morning Dec 3
9:30-12:00
Prana Vinyasa Flow is an energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to
embodying the flow of yoga cultivated by Shiva Rea and the Global Vinyasa Collective of Teachers. Begin the journey with numerous variations on the
traditional sun/moon salutations. Dance with flowing, unwinding flow sequences that emphasize the continous flow of prana or energy. The asanas are artistically linked as waves to create a poetry of movement and breath.

Simon teaches Prana Vinyasa Flow and Thai Massage workshops and teacher's trainings nationally. He completed teacher's training at Yoga Works, Santa Monica in 1998. Simon lives in NYC and Philly and practices Yoga and assist with his first teacher Shiva Rea.
